The Tampa Bay Rays designate Gary Glover for assignment

The Rays have designated righty reliever Gary Glover for assignment. This is a good sign for the Rays’ bullpen as it really has a lot of depth now. Glover pitched in 29 games (0 starts) for the Rays this season and he is 1-2 with a 5.82 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP. It will be interesting to see if Glover accepts an assignment to the minors or if he leaves as a free agent. The Rays would probably call him up in September if he stayed with them.

UPDATE: Gary Glover has decided to decline his minor league assignment thus becoming a free agent. He might find some team willing to give him a chance.
