30-year old lefty swinging Carlos Pena had a career year and then some in 2007 for the Devil Rays. He played in 148 games for the Rays last season and he was 138 for 490 (.282 avg, 1.038 OPS) with 99 runs scored, 46 homers and 121 RBIs. It will be interesting to see what Pena does for an encore as he is a career .252 hitter (.847 OPS) in 655 games. I think Pena will hit at least 30 homers and drive in 100+ runs as I don’t think it was a fluke. He was always thought of as a top prospect and he’s just now living up to his potential.
